Noctiluca Navigator does not include built-in H.264 / H.265 (HEVC) encoder or decoder modules; it uses hardware-accelerated decoding APIs provided by each platform to render remote screens.
On Windows and Linux, a Cisco OpenH264-based software decoder can be downloaded with user consent and dynamically loaded via dlsym(3) as a fallback when hardware-accelerated decoding is not available.

Windows and Linux versions are built on the Qt framework licensed under LGPL. Users may replace the Qt libraries with their own builds in accordance with the LGPL license.
Limited reverse engineering is permitted for Windows and Linux versions to enable use of user-provided Qt builds. See the Noctiluca Navigator License Agreement page for details.
